What is this tool?
Image Format Converter re-encodes an image into a different file format using your browser's built-in canvas engine. HEIC and HEIF photos (the default format on iPhone) are first decoded in your browser so they can be converted like any other image. Converting to JPEG automatically fills any transparent areas with white, since JPEG doesn't support transparency, while PNG and WebP keep transparency intact. The whole process happens on your device — the image is never uploaded to a server.
Common uses
- Converting a HEIC photo from an iPhone to JPEG to share or upload it anywhere
- Converting a PNG screenshot to JPEG for a smaller file size
- Converting to WebP for faster-loading websites
- Getting a PNG version of an image that supports transparency

FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser using canvas rendering — the image never leaves your device.
Why can't I open my iPhone photos in other apps?
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, a format many apps and websites don't support. This tool decodes HEIC directly in your browser and converts it to PNG, JPEG or WebP.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPEG?
JPEG doesn't support transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with white during conversion.
Which format should I choose?
Use JPEG for photos where small file size matters, PNG when you need transparency or sharp edges, and WebP for the best balance of quality and size on modern websites.
