What is this tool?

QR & Barcode Scanner decodes codes without a dedicated app: it reads QR codes plus common 1D barcode formats (EAN, Code 128, UPC and more) from uploaded images, screenshots or your live camera. Detected links can be opened with one click after you've seen where they lead. All decoding happens in your browser — images and camera frames never leave your device.

Common uses

  • Reading a QR code from a screenshot or forwarded photo
  • Checking where a QR code leads before scanning it with your phone
  • Decoding a barcode number from a product photo
  • Scanning a code with your laptop when your phone isn't handy

FAQ

Which code formats are supported?

QR codes plus the common 1D barcodes: EAN-8/13, UPC-A/E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, ITF and Codabar, among others.

Why isn't my code detected?

Blurry, dark, very small or partially covered codes are hard to decode. Try a sharper photo taken straight-on with the code filling more of the frame.

Are my images or camera pictures uploaded?

No, decoding runs entirely in your browser — images and camera frames never leave your device.

Is it safe to open links from QR codes?

The tool shows you the full URL before you open it — check the domain first, exactly because QR codes can hide malicious links.
