What is this tool?
Video to MP3 pulls the audio track out of a video file and encodes it as a 192 kbit/s MP3 — the format that plays on every device ever made. It uses FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so the extraction happens on your own device: lecture recordings, interviews and personal videos never touch a server.

FAQ
Is my video uploaded for the conversion?
No. The audio is extracted entirely in your browser. Only the FFmpeg engine (~31 MB) is downloaded from a CDN on first use — your video stays on your device.
What quality does the MP3 have?
The audio is encoded at 192 kbit/s — transparent quality for speech and very good for music. The result can never be better than the video's original audio track.
Can I extract only part of the audio?
Trim the video first with our Video Trimmer, then extract the MP3 from the trimmed clip — or cut the MP3 afterwards with the Audio Cutter.
